What questions, or types of questions, do you most often ask your friends?
What topics do you usually ask about?
Part of being a good listener is asking good questions. It can be easy to fall into patterns of conversation where we ask the “expected” questions and leave it at that, but good listeners don't just ask more questions; they ask better questions. Good questions are curious, open-ended, and invite people to share stories, thoughts, and experiences. They communicate, "I'm interested in knowing you," and they often lead to deeper conversations and stronger relationships.
