I heard God speak to my heart in many ways and saw how deeply burdened his heart is for people of all nations and religious backgrounds.
Rachelle, 2023
God is at work in this part of the world, where many people have never heard the gospel or developed a friendship with a follower of Jesus Christ.
Many people have been disillusioned by religion, yet they remain unsatisfied when they turn to secularism.
While the landscape can be dry, the culture is rich with history, flavour, tradition, and hospitality.
Come learn who these people are, how God is revealing himself, and how you can respond to the Holy Spirit at work in your life and in those around you. We call this place “Desert Rain” because of what we see God doing here:
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. - Isaiah 43:19
You’ll build intentional friendships, creating and receiving opportunities to engage in gospel conversations. You’ll practise loving God and loving your neighbour.
You’ll grow in your awareness of God’s presence in another culture, your ability to contextualize the gospel, and your dependence on the Holy Spirit to serve across differences with humility and love.
You’ll experience the importance of Christian community and unity within your team and between your short-term team and local long-term partners.
This trip is part of a long-term partnership in this country. For several weeks you’ll be living with your team, interacting with people from a different culture, and taking steps of faith in your walk with God.
Hospitality will be significant. You’ll accept and receive hospitality, and you’ll learn about its significance in this part of the world. You may be surprised at how impactful a genuine friendship can be.
Your walk with Jesus is so important! Following him in this highly relational context will bring both challenges and great joys. We want to help you grow through it all.
Before the trip, participants will be trained and coached on topics like:
Fundraising
