Around the world, countless communities don’t have access to safe drinking water.
Giving clean water—and an opportunity to hear the gospel—gives honour, dignity, and hope.
Filter of Hope empowers volunteers to give these things to families in need. We’re starting a new partnership with them because we value many of the same things.
Compassion: God’s love motivates us to help families who are struggling with water-borne illnesses and spiritual darkness.
Living on mission: We want to join in with God’s desire to see the end of the global water crisis and the day when all people have heard about Jesus.
Local partnerships: In-country partners help us bridge cultural gaps and work more effectively and sustainably in their communities.
If you’re passionate or even just curious about any of these things, consider joining our first Filter of Hope mission trip!
You’ll work through local partners to amplify their ministry, by cultivating conversations and sharing the love of Christ.
You’ll experience “integral mission” where meeting practical needs creates opportunities for evangelism, as you show the transforming grace of Jesus Christ.
You’ll learn about God’s love and care for the marginalized through offering water filters, prayer, and conversations about Jesus.
You and your team of other students and P2C-S staff will work alongside Filter of Hope’s local church partners. They will prepare the neighbourhoods and families that your team will visit even before you arrive.
Your team will split into small groups with a translator and a representative from the local church. Together you’ll visit families in their homes. You’ll offer them a simple, life-changing water filter, an opportunity to hear how much God loves them, and a Spanish New Testament.
Local church partners will follow up with the families that your team visits. They’ll disciple anyone who chooses to follow Christ. This follow-up ensures that the ministry you take part in is sustainable and continues long after you leave.
What a typical day might look like:
You spend your mornings and afternoons connecting with families in the communities of church partners. You’ll get to know them. You’ll give them a water filter and maybe a Bible. And through a translator you’ll share the gospel.
In the evenings, you’ll connect with your team. You’ll process your experiences and how God is working in you and in this location.
There will also be opportunities for you to see and experience the local culture.
