One of the most important Spanish sayings I learned during my mission to Honduras was "Jesucristo Basta." Jesus Christ is enough. The people of Honduras reminded us of the important truth: you don't need running water, electricity, or a big financial offering to please God, He simply wants your heart.

Why go to Honduras?

We get to witness what God is doing in Honduras! Faithful Hondurans have invited us to come learn from them, serve alongside them, and witness God's majesty in a country that they love. We’d love to have you come along.

Honduras is a beautiful country – full of glorious views and generous people. Hondurans will quickly invite you into their homes to enjoy fresh baleadas, a cup of coca-cola, or a fresh coconut.

While we’re in Honduras, we partner with Adventure in Missions, a small organization started by a Saskatchewan couple who saw the need for medical care in remote communities in Honduras. For half the week, we spend time in an English-Spanish Christian school run by a Canadian and Honduran couple. In the second half of the week, we go into communities to visit the church in more isolated areas.

Come see people’s passion for Jesus in another context! Come catch a vision for God’s goodness in this place and his heart for these people! Come be inspired to live more faithfully when you return home!

Encouragement

You’ll cheer on Honduran locals and missionaries and you’ll be inspired by their passion. You’ll see what God is already doing in Honduras, including enjoying the beauty of this country.

Learning

You’ll get to learn about their local economy, their rich history, and their deep faith. You’ll grow curious about the inequality they experience and maybe have more confidence to engage with poverty in your own context back home.

Service

As we learn from the locals and missionaries, we also want to come alongside them to care for them. We have the opportunity to help them in practical ways in order to give a boost to their mission. There is a special focus on medical care and education.

What happens on the Honduras mission trip?

With your Canadian team, you’ll work with Christians in Honduras through Adventure in Missions. You’ll learn about this country and join in prayer for its future.

Practically, this might mean:

  • Going into El Cacao (the local village) to visit with people in their homes

  • Helping with jobs around the school including building, painting, or cleaning

  • Worshipping with a local church and sharing your story or leading the congregation in musical worship

  • Playing a game of soccer with the local youth (warning: they will probably beat you)

  • Doing fluoride treatments and running education programs for kids in the school

  • Going on an adventure to the local lagoon to contribute to their economy

You’ll end the trip with a team debrief and conversations about next steps.

How is the Honduras mission trip funded?

The cost of each Mission Trip includes international airfare, orientation, all ministry-related expenses, debrief, in-country transportation, housing, meals, and administration.

Once accepted, we will provide coaching and training on how to invite people to financially and prayerfully partner with you. Support raising can be an opportunity for you to grow in faith by trusting God to provide. It also gives your community the opportunity to join in what God is doing.
